Taking a Time Out

It seems that with our current political climate, and election day just around the corner, the news streaming in through the media – and our national “mood” – seems to be getting worse and worse. Collectively, many of us are so tired of the negativity, the fighting, the name-calling, and the incredible problems that plague our country right now. The stress can get to be too much.

Sistafriends; it’s OK to take a time out.

Time outs can look different for all of us, but can often include things like unplugging from Facebook and social media; or limiting the amount of news we consume each day. If we want to stay informed, often times a quick, time-limited scan of the week’s headlines are enough to catch us up. We need to give ourselves permission to tune out and tune in to our inner voice. It’s hard to hear ourselves sometimes in this midst of all the political yelling.

Women in particular often need help and encouragement to give ourselves permission to take a time out – we’re so busy caring for everyone else! Anxiety can plague us if we don’t learn how to care for ourselves better. This is where stress counseling and specifically, women’s counseling, can come in handy. Having a set time each week where we get to focus on ourselves, OUR feelings and OUR needs can help us re-align with our true wants and needs. It can help bring us back to ourselves in the midst of all the noise.

If you’re ready to create a little more space in your week to hear your own voice, and feel your feelings, give us a call at 720-388-7822; or Book Online Here!
